Atlanta Film Festival Returns This April!
The Atlanta Film Festival is back and taking over the big screen! (And the drive-in screen, and virtual screens). The festival, running April 22nd through May 2nd, offers movie screenings, educational programs, networking, and other live entertainment. Guests can enjoy a cinematic experience in the comfort of their homes, at the drive-in, or inside the theater. No matter how you participate, the festival is a fun and uniquely Atlanta experience; it’s consistently recognized by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Creative Loafing, and Atlanta Magazine as one of Atlanta’s “best spring festivals” and “best overall film festival.”
Now in its 45th year, the Atlanta Film Festival is one of the largest and longest-running film festivals in the southeast. It is one of only two dozen Academy Award™-qualifying events in the country, showcasing more than 200 films each year. The festival incorporates diverse, international categories such as Noire (led by black filmmakers), New Mavericks (women and gender non-conforming artists), ¡Cinemás! (Latin American perspectives), Pink Peach (LGBTQ stories), and Georgia (homegrown filmmakers). This event is a celebration of cinema and cultural discovery, where artists and audiences alike can have meaningful dialogues about filmmaking.
The Plaza Theatre is hosting the Atlanta Film Festival this year, along with Dad’s Garage. Festival badges range in price from the $75 Virtual Creative Conference Pass to the $400 Full Festival Badge. Guests can also purchase general admission tickets to see individual films. If you’re interested in filmmaking, love seeing a good movie, or want to experience what a film festival is like – check out the Atlanta Film Festival!
